Subsystem Summary:
ADCS (Attitude Determination and Control Subsystem) is responsible for stabilising AcubeSAT as well as determining and controlling its attitude and orbit. This is crucial both for the safety of the spacecraft and for establishing a reliable downlink with the Ground Station.
Position Description:
As an Attitude Control Engineer, you will be given the opportunity to
- Contribute to the development, testing and maintenance of the ADCS business logic software
- Implement the embedded software interface with sensors and actuators
- Contribute to the construction of a Helmholtz Cage and use it to conduct tests on the satellite hardware and attitude determination and control algorithm
- Characterize and test the sensors and actuators utilized to stabilize the spacecraft and achieve the desired orientation
- Run simulations of the spacecraft dynamics including sensor fusion and control algorithms, orbit propagators and rotation matrices
Preferred Skills:
Our goal is to study, learn, develop and fly our own satellite. If you have a working spirit, time to spend, patience and in search of personal progress, come and meet us! This position is entry level, hence the below mentioned skill set is optional.
- Experience with embedded programming in C/C++
- Familiarity with microcontrollers (e.g. based on ARM, AVR, PIC, or Arduino)
- Familiarity with communication protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, CAN)
- Familiarity with control theory
- Passion for understanding and composing automatic control systems
- Curiosity on understanding and practice space engineering principles
